I mean, do some research before you go? Or there's maps and signs all around within the park with both Chinese and English writings, I even spotted a couple in your video, give it a look maybe? It's just painful to see you two walk around cluelessly while missing all the signs and maps around you which could lead you to more scenic places. The palace is huge and you've probably only seen the entry part of it, like literally 5% of all, and that is not even the most wowing part of the palace....

Two things in the Palace you can’t miss: 1. The Kunming Lake and the surrounding areas; 2. The Tower of Buddhist Incense at the top of the hill. It seemed you didn’t catch either of these two. And seems you only saw 20% of this park. Dude, do some research before you go.

The Summer Palace has multiple entrances, with the North Palace Gate being the closest to the subway. The North Palace Gate is the back entrance of the Summer Palace, located near Beigongmen Station (北宫门) on Metro Line 4. You entered through this palace gate. After entering, you first visited Suzhou Street (Suzhou Jie) 苏州街 (--- you viewed from the bridge), then climbed Longevity Hill (Wanshou Shan) 万寿山 (--- you guys mostly completed) but missed exploring Kunming Lake (Kunming Hu) 昆明湖 etc. It is better to enter through the East Palace Gate (东宫门) because it is the main entrance. You can take Metro Line 4 to Xiyuan Station (西苑), exit from Exit C2, then walk west along Tongqing Street (同庆街) for 500 meters (or might be 800 meters?) to reach the East Palace Gate (东宫门). The suggested tour route is as follows: East Palace Gate 东宫门 >> Hall of Benevolence and Longevity (Renshou Dian) 仁寿殿 >> Wenchang Tower (Wenchang Ge ) 文昌阁 and Wenchang Gallery(Wenchang Yuan ) 文昌院 >> Hall of Jade Ripples (Yulan Tang) 玉兰堂 and Yiyun Hall (Yiyun Guan) 宜芸馆 >> Hall of Happiness in Longevity (Leshou Tang) 乐寿堂 >> Long Corridor (Chang Lang) 长廊 >> Hall that Dispels the Clouds (Paiyun Dian) 排云殿 >> Tower of the Fragrance of the Buddha (Foxiang Ge) 佛香阁 >> Suzhou Street (Suzhou Jie) 苏州街 >> North Palace Gate 北宫门. After exiting, you can take the subway to visit the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) 圆明园 or return to the city center. What was that gorgeous temple at the top at 9:20? Wish you'd shown more of it. Love the 'Flintstone' features around the buildings; I think the designers wanted to impart a naturalistic, rugged element around the otherwise orderly layout of the palaces.

I visited the Summer Palace 13 years ago. It seems like you guys didn't reach every major tourist spot. I remember it's massive and takes more than half a day to see most of it.

Oh my goodness! You did not even see the main part of the summer palace yet. You should have checked map of the summer palace! You probably just covered 5% of the park, what a miss! If you are still in Beijing, you should consider go there again.

This is the new summer palace. The old summer palace (Yuanmingyuan) in the other part of Beijing was looted and plundered by the Anglo-French invaders in the mid 1800's.

I was just there in April.

There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3th why China is so safe even for foreigners.
